i fell in love with my bestfriend

I've liked this guy for a while, we’re pretty good friends, but I think I’m starting to fall for him. My friends have been urging me to tell him how I feel about him, but I don’t want him to feel awkward and ruin the friendship we have. So should I tell him or not and if so do you have any tips? what should ido, i already told him but my feeling, but i cant accept his answer. its really hurt me so bad, :( he's in love with another girl. OMG, please let this feeling go.
